Retailer shout-out! Uncanny Comics, West Sussex UK

I wanted to post a special thanks to Ian and the rest of the blokes at Uncanny Comics in Worthing, West Sussex in the UK! They’ve been big fans and great supporters of The Black Coat from day one. I sent Ian a pinup a little while back and, despite the Black Coat’s status as a rebel yank, they hung it in the store’s front window! Cool! If you’re in the area, be sure to stop in and pick up all the latest BC books while you grab the rest of your monthly haul. And if you’re not in the area, swing by their website and check them out anyway: http://www.uncannycomics.co.uk/ Thanks guys!

“Or Give Me Death” TPB in stores today!

photoHey BC fans! The Black Coat’s second mini series has been collected into a gorgeous trade paperback and is now in comic shops across the country. If you haven’t gotten your hands on one yet, or missed any or all of the series when it came out last fall, now’s your chance to get caught up on what you missed. The series featured a story by Ben Lichius and Adam Cogan, was written by Ben Lichius and featured art by Francesco Francavilla and Dean Kotz. It garnered all sorts of praise once released as well – like these bits from Pullbox.com: “This is a well-thought out story, rich in details and background. The characters are strong and believable (in that pulp sort of way), the story walks strong and leaves you wanting more. “ “If you haven’t checked this out, you need to. The Black Coat is part of the upper-echelon of family-freindly independent comics available!” And these from ComicsBulletin: “There’s so much goodness in Black Coat to recommend.” “Lichius and Kotz promise much on the cover of Black Coat, and they deliver.” And speaking of covers, here’s a peek at the amazing wraparound TPB cover (by Gabriel Hardman) in all of its printed glory! photo2 Thanks again to all of our fans for supporting us! Enjoy!

The Black Coat @ Pittsburgh Comic-con this week!

PGH_comiccon_logoIf you’re in the Pittsburgh area this coming weekend (April 23rd-25th), be sure to stop by the Pittsburgh Comic-Con at the Monroeville Convention center. The Black Coat will have a table in the small press area where you can meet Ben Lichius (series co-creator and writer), pick up books you may have had trouble getting your hands on, get a free sketch, or buy the brand new “Or Give Me Death” Trade Paperback!! (In stores this month!). There will be lots to see and do at the show. Pittsburgh is always a great “comic-centric” convention and we’re happy to be there for the 3rd time. Be sure to stop by and see us at booth #S089!! For more info on the convention CLICK HERE! And even if you can’t make it to the show, keep your eyes peeled for the OGMD TPB coming out this month – featuring a wraparound cover by BC artist Gabriel Hardman!!

Black Coat on “Ghost Whisperer” tonight!

ghost_whispererIt was a good match. I like having Black Coat posters featured on a primetime television show, and the creative team working on CBS’ “The Ghost Whisperer” like roylaty-free comic art that doesn’t cost them anything. Tonight’s episode (“On Thin Ice” - 9PM EST) is about a comic artist being haunted by a particularly chilly ghost and if you take a close look all around his studio you’ll notice some familiar comic covers. Black Coat artist, Gabriel Hardman, does the principal artwork for the show – so tonight’s episode is a double win for BC fans! Check it out and tell your friends!
